In this episode, I invite Amy Wada the lead actress for the production play called “The Chinese Lady”. The play is about a forgotten Asian historical figure named Afong Moy - America’s First Chinese Woman. During her time in America, she became an unintentional cultural ambassador, offering Americans a glimpse into Chinese traditions, clothing, and customs. Her public appearances, dressed in traditional Chinese attire, fascinated and sometimes mystified American audiences, sparking interest in Chinese culture.
