1 Year Ago Today (Australia), on the 13th April 2024, UFC 300 went down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The hype was not there for this card. Many were expecting big returns, like Conor McGregor to finally fight Michael Chandler from their The Ultimate Fighter season 2 years earlier. As that had been what happened historically with cards like this. But no, it was just 'run of the mill' in the eyes of many.

It would end up becoming one of the most memorable fight cards in UFC history. With Alex 'poatan' Pereira defending his light heavyweight championship in convincing fashion against Jamahal Hill, and Weili Zhang defending her women strawweight bout against Yan Xiaonan.

However, it is perhaps best remembered for the fight between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway for the BMF Title. Having won all five rounds, Holloway knocked out Gaethje, who had been on a tear of knock outs in the lead up to UFC 300, with one second to go of the 5th round. That fight would go on to win knockout of the year for 2024.
