In the days following 11-year-old Bethany Markowski’s disappearance, her mother Jonnie refused to rest. She called detectives every thirty minutes, plastered missing posters across Jackson, and begged anyone who would listen for answers.

Amid the chaos, one truth stood out - Jonnie passed her polygraph with flying colors. Larry Markowski did not.

As the investigation unfolded, the question lingered: How could a father forget?

It’s 5:15 p.m. on March 4th, 2001. A 911 call is made from the Old Hickory Mall in Jackson, Tennessee. A father reports his daughter missing - an 11-year-old who went inside to shop, but never came back. He says he fell asleep in his van while she was gone.
