まいちゃんとは、Ep. 10のゲストのToyiを通して出会いました。日本人のご両親のもとロンドンで生まれ育ったまいちゃん。ロジカルに、そして本当にキチっとした日本語で会話のキャッチボールをする彼女を前にするたび「バイリンガルは努力から成る」と感じてハッとさせられます。
本編で話していた、まいちゃんの大学学部時代に経験したスペイン留学について。インドア派の彼女が留学を機にスペインが好きになって、いまも頻繁に旅行に行っていると思うと、スペイン求心力というか、人を惹きつける力はすごいな！と。私もこうやって自分を広げる経験を、大なり小なりもっとしていきたい！と再認識しました。
ロンドンでは同じ”日本人”として括ることができる私たちだけれど、話せば話すほどマインドや視点の違いに気づかされ、自分自身の考え方についても気づきのある回でした！
