Ep. 37 - Help Me!

In this episode of Mindfull Moments titled "Help Me!", we dive deep into the often uncomfortable but necessary act of asking for help. Why is it so hard to reach out when we need it the most? Whether it's pride, fear of judgment, or simply not wanting to feel like a burden, many of us struggle with this simple yet powerful request. I explore the reasons behind our hesitations and what holds us back from seeking the support we need.

We'll also talk about why having a strong support system is essential for personal growth. Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness—it's an act of faith and a step toward the path God has for us. By leaning on others, we position ourselves to grow and go where God is calling us. If you’ve ever found yourself hesitant to reach out or feeling like you have to carry the weight on your own, this episode is for you! Let's learn how to ask for help and build the right community around us.

Ep. 27 - Control

The C word makes me itch TO THIS DAY! Control, control, control! I want to be able to turn and swerve that thing whichever way I please. But life doesn’t work that way huh?I’ve had to have a sit down with myself and look at what’s in my control and what’s out of it. Having “full” control helped me have a grasp over my life, or so I thought. But the tighter I tried to have every aspect of my life under control, the more chaotic/draining life got.It was only when I embraced what I could control (my decisions, my attitude, etc.), and gave to God what I couldn’t control that I began to see a positive change in my day-to-day life and how I handled things. Overall, I now have a healthier outlook on life.

Ep. 26 - Don't Look Back

Dwelling on the past is like trying to drive forward while staring at the rearview mirror – you'll end up stumbling, maybe even crashing! God didn’t bring you out of it just so you could dwell on it, miss it, and keep reliving it. He has better waiting for you. Don’t prolong the great things that lie ahead by focusing on what was.

Sometimes I look back simply because I know what’s there, I miss it, I know what I’m going to get, and honestly, I can harp on how I could have changed it. When I look ahead, though I’m optimistic, part of me is still fearful simply because so many unknown factors lie ahead. But I’ve learned, and I’m still learning, that despite the unknown… one thing that is known is hope. And that’s what outweighs looking in the rearview mirror.

Attention, attention, attention. What deserves our attention? What should we give our attention to? How do we delegate our attention? Let’s talk about it.

Topics Discussed:

  • Compartmentalizing
  • Creating a Mental Drawer
  • Distractions

Attention serves as a key indicator of relevance and impact. In essence, compartmentalizing and discerning priorities help us to navigate life's complexities with greater efficiency and resilience.

Ep. 23 - Self-Advocacy: Say it with Your Chest

Advocating for oneself is crucial in ensuring that personal needs, boundaries, and desires are respected. I’ve found that speaking up for myself in every aspect has reinforced my sense of worth. It's a way to communicate more effectively, and foster healthier relationships and opportunities.

In this week’s episode, we discuss:

  • Why it can be difficult to advocate/speak up for yourself
  • How to advocate for yourself

Ultimately, I’ve learned self-advocacy is a foundation of self-respect and a catalyst for personal growth and fulfillment.

Ep. 22 - Comfortably Uncomfortable

Comfortably uncomfortable: getting acclimated to the things that make us uncomfortable, the things we must do to grow. It challenges us to confront fears and expand our boundaries, encouraging resilience and adaptability. Being comfortably uncomfortable also cultivates a mindset that welcomes change, ultimately leading to personal development and the ability to navigate the complexities of life more effectively.

It's in those uncomfortable moments that we often find our greatest opportunities for growth and transformation.

In this week’s episode, we discuss:

  • What being “comfortably uncomfortable” means
  • Settling into things that make us uncomfortable so we can grow
  • How being “comfortably uncomfortable” produces confidence in God and ourselves

Ep. 21 - The Backside of Obedience

Being obedient and giving God my ‘yes’ is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. That yes has come with its challenges too. We hear so much about the beauty and upside of being obedient to the point where we forget to mention the backside: the process. And that process can be well… a lot. Obedience produces beauty, endurance and resilience, but I also want us to dive into the backside so we can better endure the process and trust God through it.

In this week’s episode, we discuss:

  • What being obedient entails
  • Why God calls us to be obedient
  • What obedience produces
  • The process of obedience
  • Obeying in seasons to come

Ep. 19 - Fact Over Feeling

"When you treat a lie like it’s the truth the lie begins to behave like it’s truth in your life." - Dr. Dharius Daniels Don't let the lie hold more power than it should! It's been a WEEK! In this week's episode, we dive into all things fact over feeling. Sometimes we hit a wall where we have no choice but to feel. But what do you do with those feelings? What if those feelings are contrary to what you know to be true? It's important to remember that these thoughts don't always reflect reality nor do they reflect God's truth about you. Be mind-full of when those thoughts come up, what may have caused them, and how you can learn from them and not live in them. Instagram & TikTok: @ohhh_jada
