Silence to Action: Allyship & Pride Month (Part 4 with Ashley Hampton)
“I support you, but can we not talk about this at work?” We’ve all heard it. Some of us have said it. But what happens when support stops at comfort? In this bold Pride Month conversation, Mind Amendment host Patrick Custer sits down with therapist, educator, and cultural worker Ashley Hampton to unpack what it really means to be a safe space for others, especially those living at the intersection of being Black, queer, neurodivergent, and exhausted by performative care. This episode isn’t about calling people out. It’s about calling people closer to the work of real allyship. Together, Patrick and Ashley explore: -Why “I don’t see color” can be more harmful than helpful -The emotional toll of shrinking yourself for other people’s comfort -How to show up without needing to be perfect -Why silence isn’t safety for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities -What accountability actually looks and feels like in therapy, in relationships, and in the mirror If you've ever wondered what it means to truly support someone during Pride Month beyond the hashtags, beyond the merch, this is where the real conversation begins. Watch now on Mind Amendment with Patrick Custer.
