
Modern society has a tendency to apply modern ideas and symbolism to ancient entities, diluting their original meaning and purpose—especially when it comes to love deities. We’ve all seen the insipid depictions of baby Cupid with his quiver full of love darts, and Aphrodite depicted as a loveable airhead.
However, nothing could be further from the truth. As Shannon and I discuss in our latest episode, love has a multitude of facets—some sweet, some sour, and some downright deadly.
