We created Metaphysical Apothecary as a place to share hidden knowledge and, perhaps, use that knowledge to gain a deeper understanding of our universe and our purpose. By exploring history's secrets and uncovering lost or hidden knowledge, we can develop a deeper understanding of how to heal our bodies, minds, emotions, and spirits. "Metaphysical" means "outside or beyond the physical realm." An apothecary is a place people visit to obtain the knowledge, supplies, and medicine needed to heal themselves. Healing alleviates suffering and helps us achieve inner and outer peace.

Modern society has a tendency to apply modern ideas and symbolism to ancient entities, diluting their original meaning and purpose—especially when it comes to love deities. We’ve all seen the insipid depictions of baby Cupid with his quiver full of love darts, and Aphrodite depicted as a loveable airhead.

However, nothing could be further from the truth. As Shannon and I discuss in our latest episode, love has a multitude of facets—some sweet, some sour, and some downright deadly.
