In this episode I am joined by David Burke, who is a PhD in metal studies, a musician, a promoter and a 'zine editor. We discuss the birth of metal music as a reaction to the social and political climate of the time, the connection between the occult and metal and we delve into the lyrical content of metal music. And as always, we end with a game of 'Gift or Curse' which provides my favourite answer so far!
