"I think that we were expectant that God was going to show up on this journey to baby number three in a way that we had never really experienced Him before and I will go ahead and tell you- that happened. God has shown up in ways that we've never experienced before, but it wasn't in the way we were hoping and it wasn't in the way we were expecting." - Stephanie Booe

The journey to parenthood can be messy and as you know, Stephanie and Alex are no strangers to the struggles of conception. At the start of 2024, they started the journey to their third baby, but it was a different type of journey. 22: Faith in the Waiting| How God Met Me in My Infertility

"I’ve had people tell me they’re sorry when they hear that Alex and I struggled to conceive and my answer is and forever be— I’m not. I’m not sorry that this was our story because it brought us closer to God and that’s the ultimate prize, right? Did we struggle? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely. " - Stephanie Booe

Grab your coffee and come join Stephanie on the yellow submarine sofa for a real and honest conversation about how her faith journey really took root in the beginning years of their struggle with infertility.

She begins by sharing a brief history of her faith because it wasn't something that took root until much later in life. Her testimony really shines in the years where Stephanie and her husband, Alex, learned of their unexpected diagnosis of infertility. This testimony is one of hardship, trust, and true surrender.

In this episode- Stephanie touches on how no season of waiting is wasted and how the hardest days of our lives can be redeemed for glory and good. You'll leave here feeling refreshed in your faith and encouraged in your own walk.

21: "You Were Worth the Wait" | The Process of Writing and Publishing Our Children's Book

"We really found that our why for this book was to provide a space for the infertility community on the shelf of a bookstore. We were in the thick of our infertility journey and I came to terms with the fact that I may never be a mom and that the book that I've just written is basically a letter to a child that I may never have." - Stephanie Booe

In 2019, when Stephanie and Alex were in the thick of infertility, they wrote a children's book called "You Were Worth the Wait" and it's a book from the perspective of a parent in waiting. It's the story of their baby, for their baby, and is dedicated to all of the couples who know the various hardships of building a family. It's a tangible piece of hope for those in the waiting and a token of celebration for those holding their miracle babies in their arms.

This book was published in 2020 and has sold thousands of copies. People have used their book in pregnancy announcements, baby announcements, family photos, and more. It's a beloved book by so many and is a bed time staple in households all across the world.

As Stephanie has continued to share their journey and the story of their book through social media, one of the leading questions revolves around the process of writing and publishing their book. So, whether you've wondered about it for the creation process your own book or just out of genuine curiosity for how the process works- your long awaited questions are now answered. In today's episode, Stephanie shares snippets of their journey through infertility while also pulling back the curtain on the creation process of their book, "You Were Worth the Wait" from when it all started in 2019 to where it is today.

20: Realistic Ways to Create a Magical Holiday Season for Your Family

"It doesn't have to be perfect in order for it to be beautiful. It doesn't have to be perfect in order for it to be special. It doesn't have to be perfect in order for it to be memorable. It's not about everything being perfect. It's about everyone being together and making memories. Focus on being present, not perfect." - Stephanie Booe

The holidays can bring on a whole new level of stress, making us feel inadequate if we don't have picture perfect table scapes or photo worthy trips to the pumpkin patch. If you're already starting to feel the pressure of the holiday season, then go ahead and hit play because this episode is going to be a breath of fresh air.

As you listen, you'll be encouraged to step away from consumer culture and the pressure to overspend, overcommit, and oversaturate your holiday season with unnecessary "stuff." Instead, you'll be inspired to have slower and more intentional holidays with simple traditions that are geared towards bringing you together as a family. Running out of ideas or feeling like you have no idea where to start? No worries, mama. Stephanie has you covered as she brings a full list of easy, yet effective ideas to help you intentionally pour into your family from October to December.

Somewhere along the way, we all got so caught up in overcommitting and overspending during the holiday season. We don't want to get to January feeling like we just ran a full marathon, exhausted and wondering how much money we spent. Instead, Stephanie brings a new perspective to the table and challenges our perspective on what really matters during this time. If you've ever felt the unnecessary pressure to create the most magical holiday for your family or your kids, this conversation will help you to feel seen and heard, while guiding you into a new way of holiday living and helping you to maximize your joy this season.

More than anything, you’ll be reminded that there’s no one-size-fits-all way to do this, and that fun, connection, and authenticity are often the best parenting tools of all.

05: How Code Words Help Us Parent and Partner Better

Ever wish you had a secret language to defuse tension, ask for space, or gently nudge your partner (or your kids) toward a better mood—all without starting something? In this episode, Stephanie spills the tea on one of her favorite relationship hacks: code words.

Originally introduced in premarital counseling, these playful words and phrases have become a total game-changer in their marriage and family life. From navigating tough conversations and high emotions to surviving the everyday chaos of parenting, Stephanie shares how using lighthearted language and inside jokes has helped them stay connected, calm, and in sync.

While this episode is mostly speaking about using code words with your partner, you'll also hear how Stephanie’s now introducing code words with her son Aspen to help manage tone and emotions—proving this communication tool isn’t just for couples, but for the whole family. Think of it as emotional regulation meets inside jokes... with real-life results.

If you're looking for a fresh, fun way to strengthen your communication, avoid meltdowns, and build more connection into your family rhythms, this episode will give you the inspiration (and laughs) to start your own secret language today.
