S3 Ep. 4 - SCAR (Tissue): Unpacking an Emotionally Wounded Villain with Emmy and Coco Bree

Welcome to another episode of Mental Health Multiverse: A podcast where we mindfully break down your pop culture favs and discuss them through the lens of self care, mental health, and personal development.

This week on MHM we are talking about one of the most notorious villains in the Disneyverse: SCAR.

Since the recording of this episode, the iconic James Earl Jones has passed away. We are so heartbroken to hear about his passing, may he live on in the characters we love so dearly such as the legendary Mufasa and the villain of all villains, Darth Vader. We dedicate this episode to his memory.

For this episode, we are joined by two guests who give us new, exciting information and perspectives as we analyze a seemingly straight-cut bad guy. But is there more to Scar’s motivation?

Emmy is a certified trauma-informed coach who specializes in helping clients create thriving lives and relationships after trauma. She runs the Instagram platform @bloomingwithemmy and offers 1:1 coaching, courses, and other resources for post-traumatic growth. She is based in Oregon, USA, but sees clients virtually all over the world. You can connect with Emmy on Instagram, TikTok, and her website Emmymarie.com

Courtney Bree, AKA Coco Bree - Actress, Editor, & Cosplayer, is a Baylor grad who is now based in LA with 12 yrs of experience in the film industry in various positions. Her love for creativity extends to social media, where she shares her adventures and digital creations. She also teaches editing to hundreds of students online. You can connect with Courtney Bree on Instagram, Tiktok, and check out her editing class on courtneybree.com

Questions, themes, and topics we touch on include:

  • Scar’s origin story

  • Sibling rivalries

  • Inferiority complexes

  • Narcissism vs Insecurity

And more!
