While our brains register films as audio-visual content that we watched, VR experiences are stored as lived memories. In this episode we sat down with programmer and writer Jesse Cumming to discuss some of the main questions raised in the lecture on Ethics of virtual reality he gave during the Viorama lab.
ِAbout Jesse Cumming
Jesse Cumming is a curator, writer, and researcher. He has served as a Programmer with Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and as a Programming Associate with the Wavelengths section of the Toronto International Film Festival, in addition to Consulting roles with the Berlinale Forum and Open City Documentary Festival. He has curated, co-curated, and presented programs with The Museum of Modern Art, The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Tallinn Photomonth Biennial, Collectif Jeune Cinéma, Anthology Film Archives, the Volksbühne Berlin, La Cinémathèque québécoise, VIVO Media Arts, and more. His writing has appeared in Cinema Scope, The Brooklyn Rail, MUBI Notebook, Filmmaker Magazine, Hyperallergic, Canadian Art, Another Gaze, C Magazine, Berlin Art Link, and more. He is currently a Media Lecturer with The Creative School Cairo (Ryerson University, hosted by Universities of Canada)

عن جيسي كومينج
جيسي كومينج مبرمج وكاتب وباحث. عمل كمبرمج في مهرجان هوت دوكس الكندي الدولي للأفلام الوثائقية، كمساعد برمجة في قسم ويفلينث في مهرجان تورنتو السينمائي الدولي، كما شغل أدوار استشارية في منتدى برلينالة ومهرجان أوبن سيتي الوثائقي.
قام بالتنسيق وتقديم البرامج مع متحف الفن الحديث، متحف مونتريال للفنون الجميلة ، وبينالي تالين فوتومونث، وكوليكتيف جون سينما، وأرشيف مختارات الأفلام، و فولكسبونه برلين، ولاسينماتيك كيبيكواز، وفيفو ميديا آرت.
