S1 Ep4: In this episode of Medicine on the Frontier, Hosts Luc Woodall Gillard and Mat Howes speak with Dr Mabli Davies and Dr Nathalie Brown. Dr Mabli Davies, is an anaesthetic trainee based in Manchester, who on top of being an expedition and endurance event medic, has a special interest in women in the outdoors, particularly menstruation management and suppression methods. Joining her is Dr Nathalie Brown, a research scientist, focusing on the menstrual cycle, and the impacts on everything from participation to competitive elite sports. She has been an Arcteryx Ambassador for the last year in support of their science and research program to provide information to promote and empower women in the outdoors.
We listen to these two amazing women talking about the additional challenges that women face when working in the outdoors and some of the solutions that are out there to make the outdoors more accessible. To follow along with their future adventures, find them at @Optimal.Period and @Mabliwyn.
