What is the FASTER Act and how does it affect those with sesame allergies?
Dr. Karina Gobin is an expert in the treatment of allergic disease in both children and adults serving the Chicagoland area. She practices at the Allergy, Sinus and Asthma Professionals. For more information, visit http://asapillinois.com.

Dr. Gobin would like to highlight that even a sesame seed can cause an allergic reaction and should be taken seriously. She wanted to point out that the trace amount that may have been seen previously is different than purposefully adding it. The interior portion of a seed contains the highly allergenic protein. The intentional grinding up of sesame into flour is what is being seen recently and extremely concerning.
