In this episode of MCU Generation Unscripted, we’re spotlighting a critical and often overlooked issue: Stories of Women in Taiwan’s Tech Industry – The Battle between Dream and Prejudice.
According to a 2019 UNESCO report, women make up only 29% of science R&D positions worldwide. Even in the age of AI, gender gaps in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) remain wide and persistent. In Taiwan’s tech industry, women face barriers ranging from unconscious bias and lack of mentorship, to challenges in balancing unpaid care work.
Our student hosts — Alex, Laura, Callista, and Celia — delve into these challenges by drawing on a research project that includes interviews with women currently working in or studying STEM. They explore the structural and cultural obstacles women face and investigate how AI might be used to promote gender equality in tech.
Tune in as we discuss the intersection of gender, technology, and the future of innovation — and what it really takes to empower women in the digital age.

即使進入人工智慧時代,STEM(科學、科技、工程與數學)領域的性別落差依然明顯。
