Marquette Community Church Sermons Montello Wisconsin Sermon Series: Life in Christ Speaker: Lead Pastor Mike Vargo Text: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” (Ephesians 6:10–13, ESV) Digging Deeper: 1. Since all of our struggles are seemingly physical (i.e. sickness, conflict with others, etc.) how can Paul say that our battle is only spiritual? 2. Are God and Satan equal in power? Explain. 3. Why do you think that Paul only instructs us to stand against the enemy and not to attack?
