Hello everyone, today we will learn NOTICE WRITING, which is a very important topic for CBSE Board Exams for Grade 10 and 12.
And for other competitive Exams also.
In this video we will see 3 notice writing examples:
1) A school competition
2) Lost and found notice
3) School trip or an excursion
you definitely should know the correct format and the correct way of writing a notice bcz notice writing comes under Short composition In English writing section, it can promise you full marks , provided that you present it neat and clean and of course with the correct format.
Since notice is a formal document it should follow a proper format, there so many formats available online, in this video we will understand a standard format of notice that will be e valid for all exams.
Points to remember:
• A well-written notice must inform the readers about the 5 Ws:
— What is going to happen, (that is, the event)
— Where it will take place
— When it will take place (that is, the date and time)
— Who can apply or is eligible for it (targeted group
— Whom to contact or apply to (that is, the issuing authority)
Quick TIPS
• The notice should be presented within a box.
• The sentences should be short and grammatically accurate.
• They should be in the passive voice as far as possible.
• We should avoid using personal pronoun in notice.
• The word limit for a notice is 40–50 words (only the words in the body of the notice are counted).
