In Yemen, specifically in Taiz Governorate, southwest of the country, the population density is the highest. These people live off the water basin that feeds the region’s wells, but this basin is nearing depletion due to water scarcity and human interventions that worsened the drought crisis, along with an ongoing war that used water as weapons.
