Max sits down with Professor Sheheryar Banuri to discuss his research on transgender healthcare outcomes in Pakistan. Dr Sheheryar Banuri is an internationally recognized behavioural economist and author. He is currently a By-Fellow, Dean of College and Tutor at Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge, and an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of East Anglia. He is a pioneer in the field of behavioural development economics, specializing in motivation, governance, and discrimination, and an expert on incentive design. He has nearly two decades of research experience and has provided policy guidance to government agencies. He routinely consults for multilateral organizations, providing policy advice and intellectual support. His work has been published in leading academic journals in Economics, Computer Science, Medicine, and Psychology, and is a co-author of the World Bank’s influential 'World Development Report 2015: Mind, Society, and Behaviour'.
