Om Sarva Mangala Mangalye with Gopali Devi Dasi
Gopali Devi Dasi sings the mantra Om Sarva Mangala Mangalye in a Saturday evening satsang at Yoga Vidya in Bad Meinberg. Listen to Om Sarva Mangala Mangalye with Gopali Devi Dasi, formerly Gauri. Om Sarva Mangala Mangalye is the most famous Narayani Shloka. Om Sarva Mangala Mangalye is a mantra of benevolence: the Divine Mother, who is in all beings, is asked to bring about good for all. “Sarva Mangala Mangalye” actually belongs to the Devi Mahatmyam, it is a mantra from the eleventh chapter of the Devi Mahatmyam, tenth verse. This eleventh chapter is also called the Narayani Stotra because there are many mantras that end with ‘Narayani Namostute’. And one of them and the best known is this “Sarva Mangala Mangalye”. Mangala means blessing, happiness, all good fortune. And charana also means wish. And so this is a blessing mantra, it is an intercession mantra, it is a mantra of good will.
