Anderson was born in Acres Homes Community located on the north side of Houston, Texas. Robin is no stranger to hard work and public service. As the son of a retired Aldine teacher and Metro driver, he learned that early on that your service to the community is what is what continues to unite it. As the eldest of three siblings, Robin remembers at an early age preparing meals, helping with chores, and ensuring his siblings and he made it on the bus on time for school. Early on he learned the value of the human life as he survived open heart surgery at only 9 years old.
