In the first episode of Making an Impact, Katie Mills, Head of Zeigo Power at Schneider Electric, is joined by AECOM's Technical Excellence Director - Water, EUR-UK&I*, Peter Robinson.

Peter's latest work (and, apparently, third child) is the Glasgow Smart Canal - a project that has formed the last 15 years of his career. Katie dives into the detail of how the canal works, the benefits it brings to the surrounding areas, and what the term "smart" means for the canal.

Taking a look back over the time spent on the project, Peter recalls some of the hurdles he faced along the way, and how the wider team came together to get the Glasgow Smart Canal over the finish line, before reflecting on what impact the project has left in the world.

Katie takes a look at Peter's career on an individual level, including how he became an engineer in the first place, before looking to the future, and what's next for him in his role at AECOM.
