While he has been known for the majority of his career as the writer and director that could showcase the best of Will Ferrell, in recent years, he has shown that he is capable of so much more. He has gone from the head writer of SNL to directing multiple academy award nominated films. McKay has been able to parlay his comedic instincts into stories and themes that are anything but comedic, and damn near reinvented himself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of dramatic filmmaking.
