The story of Jimmy Nelson (Artist & photographer)

It's finally here, my podcast episode with world renowned photographer and visual artist, Jimmy Nelson. Jimmy is known and celebrated for his beautiful images of Indigenous peoples, capturing their traditions, resilience, and beauty with an authenticity that has touched hearts worldwide. His famous books, such as Before They Pass Away and Homage to Humanity, have spread all over the world and reminded us of the importance of connection and preservation in a rapidly changing world. In his latest book, Between the Sea and the Sky, Jimmy delves into the heart of Dutch culture. Showcasing twenty different Dutch communities, capturing individuals in traditional attire amidst iconic landscapes.

When I started Make, Jimmy was one of my top five dream guests, and I’m thrilled that this dream has finally become a reality.

In this episode, we dive into Jimmy’s fascinating story and the philosophy behind his powerful work. With all of his energy he shares stories behind his most iconic images and gives advice every creator on the planet should here. At least, that’s what I think.
