Here is Part Two of the King Gizzard Album Comparison. For your first episode of the 2023 season, we had to release it in two parts because there was a lot to include. This time we chose King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and instead of just one album, we each chose one to two (or several if you're Harlow) King Gizz albums; to discuss the evolution of their musical style and journey over the years. Enjoy!
If you have an artist you'd like us to cover or want to try your hand at being a part of the Roundtable, give us a shout at londonmusicreview@gmail.com

A bit late posting this one; Halloween got the better of me. For your October Roundtable, we brought on a special guest from our college radio days at 88.5 KURE, John Harlow, our old boss. We also bring on our old pal JSlivs (Jason Sliva) once again to discuss the intriguing new Whitney album, SPARK from September this year.

Sorry for the hiatus, we had a bit of trouble coming up with an album for August and due to stress at our day jobs, decided to forgo an August episode altogether. For the September episode though, we bring on our old pal JSlivs (Jason Sliva) back once again to joyously discuss the surprising new album from Djo (Joe Keery).
(I'm posting this episode in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian from where I live in central Florida, which sustained considerable damage and flooding in certain areas. Thank you to all the brave service people who are helping to make our cities and towns right again.)

Whatever else you know about Danny McGuire, you should know that he's a Lykke Li stan and will rip you to pieces if you dare compare her to Tove Lo. For your July episode, we discuss the latest from Swedish singer/songwriter/artist extraordinaire Lykke Li; her fifth studio album, EYEYE. Enjoy! ;)

For your June episode, we did something a bit different. Instead of just one album, we came together with a few from the same artist, to discuss the evolution of their musical style. This month we chose Portugal. The Man to delve into and dissect their past works. Let us know what you think!

Why discuss Valentine by Snail Mail on Valentine's Day when you can discuss TFB?? The Front Bottoms are a pop-punk staple and recently had their ten-year anniversary for their self-titled album from 2011, which is what we will be discussing on this episode of the Roundtable with two special guests Ash Tuesday and Nicci Tait.

Got together with the Colorado Crew (Henry, Tara, and Jason) to discuss the ten-year anniversary re-release of Champ by Tokyo Police Club. An album we'd all listened to before and that has become a staple in so many an indie kids' playlist repertoire. By touring this album ten years on and releasing a deluxe version with 13 extra tracks for their fans, TPC is really honoring one of their most popular albums this year and we had to pay tribute as well. Hope you enjoy it!
HAPPY ONE YEAR OF THE LUMR ROUNDTABLE!!!

The Glitter Shop (@theglittershopmusic) is a three-piece from Bury Saint Edmunds, UK; where they've been making grungey indie pop music for a few years now. After a hiatus from releasing their own music, having only put out a smashing cover of "Age of Consent" by New Order in the last few years, the trio has made a re-emergence this summer; starting to play gigs again, now that things are opening back up in the UK, and they are set to release a bunch of new original tunes! I personally cannot wait to hear their new sound and see what they've been working on.
Here is their Bandcamp: https://theglittershop.bandcamp.com/music

TW: This episode discusses some heavy topics including the mention of suicide.
This month, my co-host Henry and I were joined by my friends from Probably Oslo, Danny & Alex, to talk about the debut self-titled 'For Those I Love' album. David Balfe is a Dublin-based musician and artist. This is his first and debut album as For Those I Love (@forthoseilove), but he’s been a part of a few other projects; including the collective Burnt Out, one of at least three musical projects that he formed with his best friend Paul Curran.
The mention of Paul is vital to the discussion of the album since it was his passing in Feb 2018 that triggered David to make this album in the first place. He recorded over 75 songs for the album before whittling it down to the nine we have here.
This is another one of my favorite albums of 2021 so far and I was really excited to discuss it with some great people, so I hope you enjoy and give it a listen as well.

Myles Morgan (@mylesmorganuk) is an indie artist out of London, UK that started in his late teens learning how to play and make the music that he loves. They have four singles out so far, which can be found on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7KPw4tKwK8ONgnrmduQiZf?si=I3e2HPUfRiqap2j0lPj4Cg&dl_branch=1
I've been a fan since IKYWC came out last summer and I can't wait to hear the new stuff that is being recorded for his upcoming EP! It was so lovely to talk to Myles about his music and experiences when we 'met' several weeks ago. I hope you enjoy the listen and check out his stuff.

This month, Henry and I were joined by my very good friend, Bianca Haddock, from Orlando, FL to talk about the debut Arlo Parks album, 'Collapsed in Sunbeams'. Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho is 20 years old and goes by Arlo Parks as her stage name; this is her first and debut album, but she has been releasing music since 2018 after being discovered through BBC Introducing. This is one of my favorite albums of 2021 so far and I was really excited to get into it, so I hope you enjoy!

Boyscott (@boyscottsocialmediamaniac) are an indie rock band that started in Nashville, TN and now are based out of Memphis. Their first and only album (so far), Goosebumps, came out in 2015; it dazzled fans then, and continues to resonate with new people each year. I've been a fan since about 2018, when I first discovered Goosebumps, so I was very excited to finally sit down with Scott and Emma to talk about their music and experiences. Enjoy!
