
When narcissistic family scapegoat child learns the power of expression as he or she grows up, narcissistic parents and or grandparents might perceive him or her as becoming, "too different," to control. The personality structure of scapegoated children is often perceived by NPD parents as a challenge. Narcissists do not like change therefore, more than likely not be supportive of their adult child choosing to use his or her voice and expressing how he or she is experiencing the narcissistic relationship.
