Grant, sound recordist for film and tv (Leongatha)

Grant lives in Leongatha. He's spent his career travelling the world as a sound recordist for film and tv. In Australia, he worked on programs like ‘Beyond 2000’ with Amanda Keller.

Overseas, Grant's work focused on creating human interest stories with Australian journalist John Pilger, who was known as a champion for justice.

Working with John and a small crew, Grant interviewed locals in war-torn countries including Iran, Palestine and Iraq. However, I was particularly interested to hear about his time in Afghanistan, following the bombing of the World Trade Centre.

After highlighting the great humanity he's seen in everyday people, Grant says: “The real problem I have is with politicians …. [in relation to war] those who are after power and control are my main concern.” Given this, I also ask Grant if he feels there’s hope for the future.

A SNEAK PEAK

Grant’s values are: “Do no evil …. do as little harm as possible.”
