Six years ago, we set out to answer this question, “Is it possible change the world, stay in love, and raise a healthy family,” with the goal of interviewing 100 couples, while learning as much we could from others. We did that and more. Thank you for joining us on this journey. The podcast will live on as a resource, and we hope you will continue to use it and share it wth others. In the final episode, we talk about the journey, why this project is coming to an end, and some of our biggest takeaways.

This week we are hearing from Dustin and Melissa Nickerson. Dustin Nickerson is a stand-up comedian, and an author who recently published the book “How to Be Married (to Melissa). Melissa Nickerson is the CFO of Dustin Nickerson Comedy. Dustin and Melissa Nickerson co-host a podcast about family, relationships, and comedy called “Don’t Make Me Come Back There”. In this episode, you can listen out for these three things: Legoland Sex, posting a vacation picture, and that there’s no losing or failing in marriage and relationships. Dustin and Melissa share their journey from being high-school sweethearts, to navigating through growing individually while still building and maintaining a strong relationship with each other and their family.

This week on the Love or Work Podcast, we are learning from Nate and Tuere K. Butler! Nate is a music producer, artist, performer, casting director, and more - a man of many talents. Tuere is the Director of Operations at Plywood People and former District Director working with Congressman Lewis. This couple is full of good stories, wise words, and so much love for each other and their community. Nate and Tuere have supported each other through seasons of job changes and health challenges, and they share their learnings with us candidly. Their life is a reflection of their values - from generosity to service. Lean in, and learn with us!

In this episode we are interviewing Allyssa and Andrea, who have been married 26 years. For the first time, we learn about the transgender issue and are challenged by what length are you willing to fall in love with the next version of your partner? They share how their marriage has been strengthened through their changes, even with all the complexities. In this episode we decided to choose to learn from someone different than us and chose to learn through relationship. We always say “You have to continually fall in love with the next version of your partner.” No one exemplifies this difficult commitment more than this interview. We encourage you to tune in if you want to learn a new perspective on commitment.

This week we are hearing from Megan and Ashley Carr. Megan is a 7th grade science teacher and Ashley is an Episcopal Priest. Ashley and Megan share about their love story, which in true Atlanta fashion starts off at Taqueria De Sol. This week we are hearing from B.T. Harman. B.T. Harman is the Creator of the Blue Babies Pink Podcast, where he shares his journey of being a gay Christian in the American South. He is also the founder of Harbor, an online support program for Christian parents of LGBTQ kids. In this episode you can listen out for these three things: what to do when a loved one comes out as a part of the LGBTQ community, how to have real conversations with people you love, and how to support your loved ones in their coming out journey. B.T. Harman offers advice to parents and others who are supporting their loved ones to explore and identify themselves on the LGBTQ spectrum, as well as, share his own personal story of coming out.

This week we are hearing from  Dr. Alma Zaragoza-Petty and Propaganda. Dr. Alma is a university professor and author of “Chingona: Owning Your Inner Badass for Healing and Justice”. Prop is a rapper, activist, author of “Terraform: Building a Better World”, and founder of Terraform Cold Brew Coffee. Alma and Prop discuss navigating their personal careers and goals while simultaneously balancing raising their family and growing their relationship with each other. Tune in!

Happy Valentine's day to all who celebrate and all who don’t. Jeff and Andre kick off the conversation with their disagreements about V-day. But one thing they do agree on is how important this next conversation is. On this episode we are welcoming Jenna Worthen who started “Mom Who Works” an organization centered around redefining what it means to be a working Mom. We feature couples from the LGBTQ+ community, we hear firsthand from people about what they are learning, and we talk to couples in all seasons of life. This season is full of conversations we've wanted to have for a while. We believe that you can learn something from anyone. Today they are discussing plot twists and how covid was the most recent one to take place in all of our lives. John is a pastor who lives in New York City and recently released his book "The Intentional Father." In his book, he speaks on a guide of raising sons of courage and character. Though the book speaks on a father raising his sons, women too can grasp a great concept from him on today’s podcast. This week we are hearing from Celeste Holbrook. Celeste is a sexologist, speaker, and author and is with us today to talk about sex. Today we’re diving into chapter 9 and getting into a broader aspect of sex. On the podcast, you should listen out for some key points that we’ll be hitting on. Adam and Johnathan both bring very unique perspectives to the table, both drawing from their personal experiences and upbringings to point out what they believe was maybe lacking in the research. This conversation is challenging and hopeful, it reminds us of where this project started and pushes us forward towards a new future.
