I don't delve into detail. I hope by showing you the broad strokes of Rey's potential arc, you can imagine the rest and see how this might have become an emotionally-involving, character-centric trilogy, focused on the protagonist's inner change. I also didn't want to rewrite the entire trilogy. My aim was to use all the elements which are already on the page. Basically, you could re-write the 3rd act of the 3rd film in the sequel trilogy and even that would make a huge difference. With a solid understanding of arcs and structure, it isn't hard to re-arrange any story to be more impactful and powerful. It goes without saying that this is merely my opinion, but I'd like to hear yours. What would you have changed? How do you think Rey's arc might have been made more emotionally involving?
