As a child, I faced challenges like rough sleeping, family loss, and neglect. Despite a long journey of loss, loneliness, social anxiety, and confusion, something pulled me forward. Eventually I dropped out of university for entrepreneurship, became obsessed with psychology and philosophy, and co-founded businesses and communities. Things improved. My work led me to believe that we are ALL leaders. So, the goal of this show is to help you discover and cultivate that YOU that you want to be more of. Conversations about the world, humanity, and self-leadership can be expected here. Welcome.

What Happens When You're Told You're "Too Much" Your Whole Life? | Tania Gerard, Neurodiversity Expert

We live in a world designed for neurotypical brains, forcing millions of neurodivergent people to "mask" their true selves daily just to survive. But what's the real cost of this constant performance? And how can we build systems that celebrate neurological differences rather than suppress them?

👉 Find the full playlist of episodes HERE: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLO6l9CNQoSFdYrSofAAHBcTdsnpYk8iYg

Tania Gerard is a neurodiversity trainer, accessible marketing consultant, and keynote speaker who founded Tania Gerard Digital UK. Diagnosed with ADHD and autism, she combines lived experience with professional expertise to help organizations like the NHS, Greene King, and Swim England create inclusive workplaces. As an ADHD UK Ambassador and host of "ADHD Founders Unfiltered," Tania advocates for practical approaches to neurodiversity inclusion. Her TEDx talk "Make your marketing accessible" emphasizes that accessibility drives creativity, trust, and growth across businesses.

Today, expect to learn:

  • Why neurodivergent people are often told they're "too much" throughout their lives
  • How "masking" - performing as neurotypical - takes an enormous psychological toll
  • Why our education system fundamentally fails neurodivergent students
  • What happens when you finally get a neurodivergence diagnosis later in life
  • How workplaces can actually support neurodivergent employees beyond surface-level accommodations
  • Why accessible marketing isn't just compliance - it's good business
  • How to become your own advocate when systems weren't built for you
  • What sensory overload really feels like and how to manage it
  • How relationships change when you understand your neurodivergent needs
  • Why courage and self-advocacy are essential skills for thriving while neurodivergent
  • And more!

Neurodiversity encompasses conditions like ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other neurological differences that affect how people process information, communicate, and experience the world. Masking refers to the exhausting practice of suppressing natural behaviours to appear neurotypical. WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) provides standards for making digital content accessible to people with disabilities, while sensory overload occurs when the nervous system receives more input than it can process effectively.
