Nacido en Caracas, Venezuela en 1981, la obra de Oscar B Castillo como fotógrafo está orientada a sujetos sociales que promueven ideas de solidaridad, tolerancia y respeto en el momento que cuestionan las estructuras de poder y a sí mismo como fotógrafo y como parte de esta sociedad.
Su trabajo ha sido reconocido con una beca Eugene Smith, por Picture of the Year Latin America. Seleccionado finalista del Tim Hetherington Visionary Award, y en el Eddie Adams Workshop XXVI, fue galardonado con el Tim Hetherington Special Award.
Es beneficiario tres veces de la Fundación Magnum, actualmente con una beca de MF para un proyecto sobre juventud, encarcelamiento y reinserción en Venezuela.
