Ableton Live is good. Just requires some patience.

Hey, so I worked with Ableton for the last month and I got some to share bout it.

For the context

For last 2 years I worked with Garage Band and I still like it, then I purchased Novation Launchkey MK3 Mini to play some stuff in real time, different story that I will share later, but the thing is Novation gives you Ableton Live Lite for free since purchase their product. Nice touch in my opinion. Anyway...

So. Is Ableton Live good?

Kinda dum question, since all big DAWs are good.

And the real question is - who uses Ableton.

- What Ableton is good for?

It's good for experimenting, learning, and growing as a musician.

Genre independently you will find a lot of nice points in soft that will offer you the smarter ways to do the stuff you did without thinking about more convenient or faster ways to do it. I'm not going to teach you to use it, just google guides on YouTube for that, all I can say, first sessions was very painful for me. But it wort it. Just don't rush this and you will be happy.

Why I use Ableton is Live Session mode, when you kinda in the flow:

In this mode you don't record anything you just enjoying the playing music and chillin

Then when you came across something interesting you can record it.

Some Hardware that you purchase already gives you Ableton Live Lite for free, and with lite you already capable of a lot of stuff. So check if you got some gear if they give it to you. In the box or in "read me" file.

Learning process is unpleasant for the first two weeks, I messed stuff up without being able to fix it, what made me create new and new projects. Only thing that made me survive so far is that I knew that switching to Ableton is not the fast process. So I kept working on projects a already worked on in Garage band, and slowly studied Ableton, and I still don't understand most of stuff but this is for another story.

Conclusion

Ableton Live, who uses?

- Patient and passionate people.

Really got to go. Se ya.
