#11 Bob Gregory: Architecture Patterns with Python

https://www.cosmicpython.com/

Today I speak to Bob Gregory. He currently works as Engineering Coach at Cazoo. This is a fast growing technology company which aims to transform the way we buy secondhand cars. Previously, Bob also held the position of Chief Architect at the company.

Bob wrote the book ‘Architecture Patterns with Python’, also known as Cosmic Python, along with Harry Percival. This is the main topic of our conversation today. At a high level the book covers Domain Driven Design and Event-Driven Design. If you aren’t familiar with these with these, Bob does a nice job of summarising, so make sure to listen out for that.

Much of the content of this book was based on Bob’s experiences as a software architect at two other companies, MADE.com and Huddle. MADE.com is a platform for buying furniture online, and Huddle is a platform which helps companies to collaborate on building documents.
