David Hayward is a pastor turned artist who paints, draws, and reflects on what it takes to be free to be yourself. You have probably seen him on Instagram under his Instagram handle, “The Naked Pastor”.

And in case you’re wondering, he’s not actually naked. The idea behind the name, NakedPastor, is to tell the naked truth—no matter how vulnerable it feels. Once a pastor, he’s been creating art and working toward freedom alongside this community for over 10 years.

David joined me from his home in New Brunswick, Canada via zoom to record this conversation.
