Welcome to the Listening Prayer podcast.

This podcast is the recording of a weekly Listening Prayer session. It is a group of ordinary people listening to an extraordinary God.

Each week we have a set format:

Open in Prayer
Read through the passage of scripture we focus on for that week
Listen to a worship Song
We then take 20 minutes in silence to listen to what is on God's heart from the passage and generally there is a question to ask God about in relation to the passage.
Then each one shares what God spoke to them about as a result of the Listening Prayer time. This is a rich time as we hear the voice of God in community and we generally get a consensus as to what God is saying to us as a whole.
We close in prayer.

Each week we email out the scripture for the week and the question to ask God. You can subscribe to this email at www.listeningprayer.com.au.

I know this is a different song when we are looking at John the Baptist being beheaded. But the sense that we can ask things from God and he longs to provide for us and take care of.

Questions to ask God: Speak, Lord, your servant is listening. God, what action do you want me to take as a result of today's passage?
