Line Drive Radio - Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Tab Bamford.
Welcome to the middle of May, baseball fans! For some teams - especially in New York - the year has been a fun start. For others, it hasn't been great. Tab and Paul jump off to start the week discussing youth baseball culture and then turn their attention to the Cincinnati Reds, who threw a no-hitter - and lost... to the Pirates. The guys also discuss the ugly injury to Houston's Jake Odorizzi on Monday night and Kansas City's decision to make a change on the bench, firing their hitting coach (yes, Terry Bradshaw. No, not that Terry Bradshaw).
This week, the good is a celebration of Cubs' backstop Willson Contreras reaching the 100 home run plateau in his career. He's only the third Cubs' catcher to reach the mark, and did it with a grand slam on Monday night. The four-run jack capped an 8-run inning for the Cubs; Contreras became the first player in more than 60 years with a grand slam and another extra base hit in the first inning of a game.
The bad looked at the struggling offense in Toronto. No, not the Maple Leafs - the Blue Jays have been surprisingly underwhelming this year. In a tough American League East, they need to get on track before the Yankees run away and the Rays separate themselves in the playoff race.
Stay tuned for this week's Line Drive Radio Fantasy Add of the Week. Play ball!
