In this episode of Life Talks I speak with Akira the Don. Akira created his own genre of music called Meaningwave. Meaningwave as he states, is taking wisdom of the ages and making music out of it. Jordan Peterson, Wes Watson, Alan Watts, Carl Jung, Jocko Willink, and David Goggins are just a few of the many voices he makes music out of. We speak on overcoming anxiety through understanding memories of the past and projections of the future. We also speak on Santa Claus and the idea of Santa being more important than the "actual" Santa Claus. What Santa Claus stands for is much more important than is he real, and our ability to express that to the next generation depends on our relationship with how we see the world.

In this episode I interview Matt Izzo, who is currently training for an Ironman race. For those who are not familiar an Ironman is consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112 mile bicycle ride and a marathon 26-mile run, raced in that order with a total completion time not exceeding 17 hours. We speak about what drove him to compete at this level, how he prepares, what he eats, and then dive into the spiritual benefits he's experienced from it.
In this episode with my father I start with a song from Akira the Don featuring Jordan Peterson called, "Tell the Truth." Many times in our lives we lie, and more times than not in subtle ways, especially not living to our full potential, and being unapologetically who we truly are in relationships, work, and life. My father shares his experience so that others can learn from his wins, and his mistakes.
"When you're trying to figure out what your purpose is, and you're struggling with it. You can't see the label from inside the bottle."
You have to be willing to be vulnerable and sacrifice pride to realize we are all trying to figure it out along the way. Deana Mitchell's story should be an inspiration to others to share your story, because it ultimately is the only source of real that you have access to, everything else is dogma. Your lived experience is the best thing you have to share.
