Here, we talk about all things family photography, running a creative business + mindset with a little bit of motherhood sprinkled in to keep things real! After a decade in the photography industry, I've learned there are a lot of rules. While some of those rules can be helpful, I’ve learned that we come into the fullest expression of who we are as artists when we can let go of these rules, expectations + trying to fit into the aesthetic that someone else has deemed as beautiful + worthy. What the world actually needs is for you to create what you were created to create, so let's get to it!

Ep 17: What I learned in 2.5 months off of Instagram

Hey friend!

Today marks the end of a 2.5 month break from Instagram!

To say I learned a lot would be a gross understatement. There were some things I could have anticipated learning but others I never saw coming.

As photographers, we've been trained to think that we need Instagram; that it's vital to the success of our businesses. And while it can be a good marketing tool, it is not the end all be all.

And even if we do choose to use it, we need to do so in ways that are not negatively affecting our mental health.

In this episode, I'm unpacking ALL of the things I've learned during my 2.5 months off of Instagram (everything from how it impacts my mental health to contentment to how I parent) and what boundaries I'm putting in place as I return to the platform.

I pray that this blesses you, gives you a new perspective on social media and encourages you to make a shift to use it in a healthy way!

xo, Morgan
