Who Will Watch Out For Mom? - When Senior Facilities Can't Let Families Visit

It is stressful enough for family caregivers when their senior loved one has to be moved to a long term care facility. But when you are no longer allowed to visit anxiety levels rise sharply. And with the COVID-19 Pandemic that is just what is happening. On top of that, the Ombudsman ( an advocate for the seniors in nursing homes and assisted living facilities) can no longer visit either. And while we all understand why, it doesn't make it any easier.

Greg Shelley with the Ombudsman Program in Harris County is here to talk about how he and his team of volunteers are still serving the seniors they are there to protect. If you have never heard of an Ombudsman you really need to listen to this program.
