S02E02: The Joys of Motherhood | Overcoming Perinatal Depression | Celebrating Friendship

This episode is dedicated to every single mother who has experienced any part of what we’re discussing. We want to take this moment to acknowledge you, honour you and remind you that you are amazing! You are doing AMAZING sweetie!  This channel is very intentional and every few episodes I have a conversation with someone whose opinions I value and respect.  With that said, Yatva [IG: miss.yatva, Blog https://linktr.ee/yatva] has been kind enough to have this conversation with me and share her experience in the hope that this video can help someone(s) going through it right now.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, “ Perinatal depression is a mood disorder that can affect women during pregnancy and after childbirth. The word “perinatal” refers to the time before and after the birth of a child. Perinatal depression includes depression that begins during pregnancy (called prenatal depression) and depression that begins after the baby is born (called postpartum depression). Mothers with perinatal depression experience feelings of extreme sadness, anxiety, and fatigue that may make it difficult for them to carry out daily tasks, including caring for themselves or others.”

#TW: Also, please note the following trigger warnings: This video will include conversations about #MentalWellness, #MentalHealth and in particular, #Depression.  Also, please follow my blog www.ndapewoshaliwrites.com and my podcast, Let's Talk, with Ndapewoshali.
