Mississippi is trailing other neighboring states in efforts to attract new, high-tech business, jobs and expansion because it does not teach computer science in all K-12 schools. C Spire, a Mississippi-based diversified telecommunications and technology services company, is championing efforts to boost the state’s adoption of a solid computer science foundation in public schools so that our students will have more choices and job opportunities and the state can attract high-tech investment and growth in the future. The company recently aired a thought-provoking 30-second statewide television ad noting the progress neighboring states have made in this area and calling on Mississippi legislators to take action. Join Made in Mississippi podcast host Casey Combest as he explores the history of this grassroots effort to reshape and redefine the future of the Magnolia State. He'll uncover other insights on the company’s motivations and plans in an interview with C Spire CTO Carla Lewis and CMO Suzy Hays.
