Shakina Chinedu is a dynamic professional with a diverse background spanning law, health, and real estate. Born in the UK to Antiguan parents, she built a distinguished career in legal consultancy and public policy before returning to Africa, settling in The Gambia.

With extensive experience in equality law, Shakina worked with both public and private organizations in the UK, implementing policies that promoted inclusivity and fairness. She founded her own consultancy, training police forces across the country—from constables to Chief Constables—on community relations, cohesion, and impact assessments. She also served two terms on the Northamptonshire and National Police Authority, where she chaired the Stop and Search group and advised on community policing. Her expertise later led her to the University of Oxford, where she was the race and religion policy lead, shaping higher education policies.

Beyond law, Shakina has a passion for natural health. She founded Nubian Health, a business dedicated to producing natural, chemical-free skincare products made with raw materials from The Gambia.

Since relocating to The Gambia, Shakina has embraced a new venture in real estate. Seizing an opportunity in land sales and development, she now designs and builds housing estates, creating welcoming spaces for returning Africans.
