Let’s Talk About Down There, shall we? Welcome to the podcast you wish you had in high school, where everyone and quite (c)literally everything is welcome; words like vagina, scrotum, and nipples are embraced with open arms and nothing is considered TMI. Because with board-certified OB-GYN Dr. Jen Lincoln in charge, shame is not on the menu. As a medical professional, social media educator, mother, author, and advocate for reproductive rights, Dr. Jen is officially OVER the stigma surrounding discussions of anatomy and is ready to go (down) there. Each week, she will get right down to business, answering your burning questions you’ve left her directly via her voicemail. She’s not holding anything back, and neither should you. This is a space to say what needs to be said in order to change the narrative of what’s considered taboo. So tune in, stay safe, stay empowered and keep talking. Viva la vulva, baby!  Be sure to rate, review, and follow because it’s about to go down…there. Don’t be shy; leave Dr. Jen a voicemail with your question at 503-893-2016 and make sure to join her online @drjenniferlincoln.

What an OBGYN *Really* Thinks about Home Birth
This week, Dr. Jen is answering one of the more controversial questions she’s received on the Viva La Vulva Voicemail and addressing the hot topic of home births. As a board-certified OBGYN, she wants you to hear what she has to say on the topic - and you might actually be surprised. Listen as Dr. Jen provides an informative overview of the risks, benefits, and data surrounding this topic so you can choose a birth plan that makes the most sense for you, your body, and the health of your baby. After all, you’re in the driver’s seat!     What's going down:     Dr. Jen’s true feelings about home birth and how they’ve changed since her residency days   Maternity care deserts and an overview of the flawed healthcare system in the U.S.  The statistics on home births in the United States and whether they are becoming more common.  Benefits and risks associated with home births   Discussing birthing centres and the use of Certified Nurse Midwives  Breaking down how to create a safe at-home birthing plan   Dr. Jen’s experience with her own birth and what she learned  Find out why this at-home birthing plan is clitorally the best.
