Important to ask oneself, "what's so bad about ppl thinking I'm gay?" If we can suspend the colossal oppression & rejection gay men face at every level abovehead for a moment, what would be so bad about people thinking you're gay? What negative ideas about being gay are you holding onto? And to be clear, the affects of bi-erasure are devastating & fatal. In years to come hopefully research will be done to show the breadth bi-erasure has on bisexual+ men/masc people. I do, however, find value in going down this line of questioning & being reflective. Thread about divesting from cares of being perceived as gay or soft as a part of healthy masculinity (w/ mention of bierasure) : https://twitter.com/JRYussuf/status/1296591315266871296 J.R. created the Twitter hashtag #BisexualMenSpeak for bisexual+ men & masculine identified folks to have the space to speak for themselves & talk about how being bisexual+ impacts the way they move through the world, and maintains a YouTube channel devoted to self-improvement, emotional literacy & forgiveness.
