Ep 35: Linda's La Cantina

This week, Amy Drew and Biggie take a delicious trip down memory lane at Linda’s La Cantina, Orlando’s legendary steakhouse that’s been serving sizzling cuts since 1947!

From the moment they walked in (yep—at 4 p.m. with a line already forming!), they were surrounded by the old-school charm that makes Linda’s a true local treasure.

Biggie went big—as always—with the La Cantina Medium T-Bone, a hearty 1.5 lb combo of NY Strip and Filet, while Amy Drew savored the 16 oz Ribeye, perfectly cooked and full of flavor.

They chat about everything that makes this place special:
🥗 The housemade salad dressing that hits all the right notes
🍰 Biggie’s creative dessert mashup—Chocolate Cake meets Key Lime Pie (trust us, it works!)
🍸 Amy Drew’s appreciation for a well-made Negroni and Linda’s great drink prices that don’t break the bank
👔 The laid-back-yet-classic vibe—whether you show up casual or dressed to the nines, you’re in for a good time

It’s a celebration of nostalgia, community, and seriously good steak. Pull up a chair and join us for a bite of Orlando history.

Ep 27: Garlic, Crawfish Tails and Tavern Pizza!

🎙️ Let’s Eat Orlando: Garlic, Crawfish Tails! and Tavern Pizza!

In this deliciously garlicky episode, Amy Drew and Biggie are sauced up and ready to dish on all things flavorful around town!

🍜 Biggie slurped up some serious goodness at Kai Asian Street Fare now with Red Panda’s Noodles,—a collab worth noodling over!🐔 He also got cozy with the epic Chicken Biscuit from Chef Jes at Redlight Redlight. Comfort food meets craft brews? Yes, please.

🧄 Amy Drew dives head-first into Garlic Month, sharing her convo with Bruno of Pizza Bruno—they just opened their third location at Maitland Social (where Biggie even enjoyed a lovely outdoor bite!). She spills a fun origin story about Bruno’s beloved garlic knots—don’t miss it!

🇱🇧 They shout out the shawarma and garlic paste dreams at Beirut Grill and Deli🍗 Then head over to ChimiKing for that flavor bomb Garlic Chicken and Mofongo. Amy Drew is team seafood mofongo, while the gang also explores BiFongo and TriFongo!

🧴 Biggie brings up the lowkey gem: D’Amico’s roasted garlic in balsamic—aka caramelized perfection in a jar.

💘 Biggie gets nostalgic, sharing the story of his first date with his wife at PR’s Taco Palace (beer + tacos = forever love).

🦞 Then it’s time to Pinch the Tail and Suck the Head—we’re talkin’ Crawfish and the legacy of King Cajun Crawfish. Amy Drew dishes the backstory of how it started in Mississippi and made its way to Orlando post-Katrina. Biggie’s a fan of their Po’boy, Jambalaya, and house wings, while Amy Drew can't resist a seafood boil!

🍕 Finally, Amy Drew shouts out Nuri’s Tavern on Pine Street for its crispy-edged bar pie. She loved the Triple Meat, and loved they cook the mushrooms on pizza but had thoughts on raw mushrooms. (Pro-tip: cook 'em first!)

Come hungry and leave with a list of local spots you’ll want to hit up ASAP.

Ep 25: Tender Bender- – The Ultimate Fast-Food Chicken Tender Showdown!

It finally happened—Amy Drew and Biggie embarked on the ultimate fast-food chicken tender adventure! We visited 10 fast-food locations and put their tenders to the test, rating them on four key categories:

  • Signature Sauce – Does it take the tenders to the next level?

We spent an absurd amount of time (aka a fried clucking good time) eating and ranking the best fast-food chicken tenders, and now we’re here to break it all down for you.

Let's Eat, Orlando with Amy Drew and Biggie
Ep 19: Cinnamon Rolls and the Art of Sweet and Savory

In this episode of *Let’s Eat Orlando with Amy Drew and Biggie*, we dive into the world of cinnamon rolls—light, fluffy, and everything a Cinnabon isn’t. We kick things off with DeVilma Cinnamon Rolls, which Amy Drew describes as smelling amazing, though she admits the aroma sometimes outshines the taste. Biggie shares his go-to cinnamon rolls from Ikea and Donut King, while Amy Drew reveals her favorite—the Ultimate Cinnamon Roll from The Glass Knife in Winter Park, FL, especially for its perfectly balanced cream cheese icing.

We also chat about Amy Drew’s unique dining habit—she never finishes her food, leaving plenty for Biggie to taste. This time, he lucked out with bites of Benny’s Burger, a smash burger loaded with onions that hit all the right notes.

The conversation expands into the characteristics of a good cinnamon roll (spoiler: balance is key!) and why Amy Drew loves cakes more than frosting. She even has her eye on a Fluffer Nutter Pop Tart, leading us to explore the growing trend of homemade Pop Tarts from spots like The Glass Knife and Buttermilk Bakery.

We dig into a few must-try bakeries for cinnamon rolls, including Bread for the Masses, Yeast Coast Bakehouse, and Sourdough Bakehouse, and share stories like Biggie’s mom bringing over her favorites from Bread for the Masses.

Biggie shares the best thing he’s eaten lately—tacos from Taqueria Las Cazuelas, a small, family-owned gem—and we chat about the magic of tacos and other handheld foods.

Finally, we discuss the balance of eating, writing about food, and managing those extra calories, along with tips for navigating holiday eating and making the most of leftovers. Plus, a sneak peek into what’s coming next for *Let’s Eat Orlando*!
