Every year, the world seems to go faster. Noise floods our earbuds, and perfectly pictured people flood our timelines. In a culture of influence, you can find a ‘solution’ for this on every corner. Still, these ‘solutions’ also fail us. 'Let There Be Light' hopes to answer questions like: “how do I find purpose?” or “can there really be peace in the brokenness?” Hosted by journalist Mary Caltrider, this podcast goes beyond her usual 3 minute stories. By talking with vowed religious and inspirations, this show will reveal how even in the brokenness, you can still find the beauty.

Episode 16: What 63 days in a Syrian prison taught Sam Goodwin about God

It is a story of resilience, family and faith. Sam Goodwin was attempting to become one of the few people in history to travel to every single country on the planet. During his travels, Goodwin vanished in a supposed safe-zone run by the Kurds on the Turkish border. What followed was an extraordinary fight to bring him home.

In this episode, Sam shares how he was able to find his way home. He also recounts his reliance on prayer and how it was God’s intervention that led him home. It is a story of…a miracle. Enjoy!

You can find his book, “Saving Sam,” on Amazon. Learn more about Sam by visiting here.
