Are you a parent navigating through the world of children's sports? Welcome to "Let the Kids Play": Sports Parenting From the Child's Perspective. I am Rick Hart, the founder, and CEO of Jump Start Sports, and I am Sam Maniar, a nationally renowned sports psychologist. In this podcast, we discuss topics facing parents today regarding their children's participation in youth sports. Each week, we will have a guest who adds pertinent expertise, and a child panelist to give their fresh take! Among others, topics will include overspecialization in sports today, sports burnout among adolescents, and positive coaching/positive parenting. The purpose of the show is to get parents to stop and think about what they really want their children to get out of their participation in sports, and to consider the results of their actions and interactions with their children before, during, and after their participation. We are changing the perspective so children benefit as much as they can, and they need your help. Follow us now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you find your shows.
