Kathleen is joined by Student Doctors Olivia D'Andrea and Shannon Klein, Master of Medical Science students in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) program at LECOM. Olivia, inspired by a friend, joined LECOM after a gap year working as a medical assistant. Shannon, a non-traditional student, transitioned from a physical therapy major after realizing her passion for medicine. They highlight the benefits of the Master of Medical Science (MMS) program, which prepared them for medical school and fostered resilience. They also discuss their roles in the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA), emphasizing its support for pre-medical students and its advocacy for osteopathic medicine.
