Learning 3.0 with Nelson Sivalingam

In this week's episode, Rustica interviews Nelson Sivalingam, the co-founder and CEO of HowNow, an Intelligent Learning Platform (as opposed to an LMS) which is disrupting the way in which digital learning is delivered and knowledge is monetised.

About the guest:

In 2016, Nelson co-founded (and still currently is) the CEO at the educational technology company HowNow, disrupting the way in which digital learning is delivered and knowledge is monetised. The innovative platform raised a seven-figure investment from Fuel Ventures which includes Mark Pearson (MyVoucherCodes) and tennis superstar Andy Murray.

He has been a speaker at Google Campus, an Ambassador for Startup Britain and a Guest Lecturer on Entrepreneurship. He has been recognised by Virgin Media Business as one of the top 30 young innovative founders in the UK as well as one of the top Asian Stars in Tech by KPMG. He is a thought-leader on Startups and Tech contributing to publications such The Guardian, The Telegraph and Startups.co.uk, and recently he was featured in Bloomberg's documentary on Entrepreneurial Mindset.

He is a performance and development specialist first, and you can see those great learning principles play out in his next gen, learning 3.0 platform.

"Relevant knowledge at the time of need, is a super power" - Nelson Sivalingam

In this episode we discuss:

  • What Nelson has seen in the evolution of the ‘LMS’ historically
  • Is the LMS really dead?
  • What is the difference between LMS, LXP?
  • Why it's important to create a problem list, rather than a list of features when developing an RFP.
