I am Colonel Alok Asthana — a soldier by training, a writer by instinct, and a reformer by conviction. After over three decades in uniform, I realized that courage on the battlefield must be matched by courage in thought. That realization has shaped my mission ever since. I write — and speak — about the unseen structures that define leadership, accountability, and decision-making in the Indian military. My books are on my book site (https://alok-books.lovable.app) and my writings on Substack (indiansalute.substack.com)

Air pollution in India. Who is to blame?

The air in Indian cities is, in most cases, around 80 times more polluted than laid down by international standards. Given the scale, can there be anyone other than the Indian Prime Minister who should be blamed for it?
