Accommodation -- hostels (find the best on Hostelworld, then BOOK DIRECTLY ON THE WEBSITE to save $!), meeting people & couch surfing (tell people you meet you’re coming to their city! They might offer their couch :) asking opens up doors, and always offer the same if you’re able)
Book flights last second if you can be flexible/travel with no plan
Churn credit cards, aka use them for the bonus miles then ditch them (sorry lol). Rodney’s fave CC is Chase Sapphire Preferred (flexible miles for most airlines... ALWAYS check the cost in cash AND in points to find the better deal). Check out the other benefits of each cc (e.g. lounge passes, museum passes, Global Entry, etc)
